ELECTED COMMITTEES
Judicial Committee
This committee’s objective is to educate the membership on the ADA Principles of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct; determines membership eligibility of a prospective member who has negative disciplinary actions on their record; and conducts hearings-related to member disputes, protests, or charges in accordance with the TDA Bylaws. All members of the Judicial Committee must have attended a TDA training session before they assume their duties. The Committee Chair must have attended a TDA training session within the last four years and all committee members must have attended a TDA training session within the last eight years.
Commitment: 3-year term, required TDA training, and service during those years as needed
Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee presents a slate of nominee for each elective office and all elective committee positions except for the Nominating Committee position; presents slate to membership; ensures that Ballot is distributed to the membership.
Commitment: 4-year term, up to 4 committee meetings, and time recruiting and vetting prospective candidates.
Peer Review Committee
This committee reviews reasonable differences between patients and dentist; to assurance quality of care rendered and to determine relevancy of treatment procedures. Committee must maintain liaison with the Peer Review Council of and adhere to the policy of the Texas Dental Association in these matters. This committee uses as its guideline the manual of procedures for component Peer Review Committees of the Texas Dental Association. All members of the society Peer Review Committee must have attended a TDA training session before they assume their duties. The Chair must have attended a TDA training session within the last four years and all society committee members must have attended a TDA training session within the last eight years.
