Interview with Dr. Bader Abdeen, D.D.S., M.S.D

Dr. Abdeen is a board-certified periodontist and dental implant surgeon with over 10 years of experience in the field of periodontics and dental implants. He is a specialist member with ADA/TDA/GHDS. Here we share the interview.

Where are you from and where did you attend college, dental school, and residency if any?

I was born in Amman, Jordan where I completed dental school at the University of Jordan. After that, I pursued my specialty in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery at the Center for Advanced Dental Education at Saint Louis University, in St. Louis, MO, where I also earned my Master’s Degree in Oral Sciences.

What is your favorite part about your practice?

My favorite aspect of my practice is building strong relationships with both the patients and the referring dentists. It is truly gratifying to see how personalized care can significantly enhance a patient’s quality of life and overall well-being. I also value the collaborative partnerships with referring dentists, working closely with them to ensure their patients receive the highest standard of care. My goal is to create an office environment where every individual feels welcomed, supported, and valued.

What would you say is the mission statement of how you practice dentistry?

My mission is to deliver compassionate and evidence-based apatient’s care. I am committed to enhancing my patients’ oral health and overall wellbeing. Additionally, I strive to support referring dentists by maintaining clear communication and collaboration, to ensure our mutual patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

How do you balance work and personal life?

Work-life balance is something I continually work on. As Matthew Kelly says in Off Balance, “Our lives change when our habits change.” I’ve learned that balance isn’t about perfection but about creating habits that allow me to be fully present in each area of my life. When I’m not working, I love spending quality time with my wife and kids. We love trying new restaurants and travelling.

What advice would you have to current dental students?

Explore all areas of dentistry to find what truly excites you, take every opportunity to gain hands-on experience and adopt a growth mindset.
