The Greater Houston Dental Society (GHDS) is the local component of the Texas Dental Association (TDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA). Founded in 1904, the GHDS is the fourth largest component (local) society in the United States with a current membership of over 1,600. Our members are committed to providing the highest quality oral health care to the Greater Houston community and are dedicated to the principles of ethics, professional advancement, and advocacy.
"The Greater Houston Dental Society through education, services, and advocacy supports the area's dental profession in providing quality and ethical oral health care."
Our purpose is to serve the needs of Greater Houston by promoting public and professional oral-health education. We strive to provide the most up-to-date information available in our area, so you can stay connected with what’s happening in the field of dentistry today.
Give Kids a Smile Day – The GHDS also supports the local community through non-profit events, such as the annual Give Kids a Smile Day. In conjunction with the University of Texas School of Dentistry and the Greater Houston Dental Alliance (GHDA), the GHDS provided free dental care to approximately 300 children in April of 2011.
Star of the South – Our annual meeting provides access to continuing education, the latest dental products, and information on social programs and special events. We’re pleased to be celebrating our 41st year in what has become one of the most talked about meetings in the Houston area. This meeting is open to the public, and we look forward to seeing you this February!
